WARNERS Midlands Plc has announced that as a result of their most recent family fun day, they had broken the £10,000 barrier to be donated to Cancer Research UK.
It comes after 400 of its employees and their families enjoyed the company’s first ‘Festive Fun Day’ at their site on West Street, in Bourne, Lincolnshire.
The four-hour long charity event held was the idea of a Warners’ Fundraising Committee and followed on from the success of their inaugural Summer Fun Day in July last year.
The day was funded collectively by donations from the Warners Sports and Social Committee, Warners Midlands PLC and its suppliers. Many employees and craft stall holders also gave prizes to the charity raffle.
The total amount raised on the day was £2,300, which was presented to a local Cancer Research representative in January to add to the £8,000 presented to them in July 2008.
Cancer Research UK has been Warners Midland PLC’s designated charity for 2008 having been selected by employees and the company’s Charity Committee.
Managing Director Philip Warner was overwhelmed by the total sum of money raised by the employees and their families over the last 12 months.
