Warners Midlands Plc was proud to present The Butterfield Day-care Centre a cheque of £9500. This total has been raised through a year of fundraising by the firm’s Sports & Social committee. It has organised events such as Car washes, Casino nights, Raffles, Sandwich making and three employees completing the Thames Barrier Walk. A team also entered the Rat Race event at Burghley. The Butterfield Centre is in Bourne and provides many services to help support the local elderly. These services include meals on wheels everyday including Christmas all done by volunteers, domestic services such as cleaning, shopping and helping to take people to appointments. The centre itself is open Monday to Friday providing a mini bus service collecting and dropping people off, cooked meals from a full time cook preparing food from fresh, afternoon tea, practical support and a social and caring environment for its clients. The money raised will go to help fund a new specialist minibus to take people to and from the centre. Warners Midlands has raised £70000 for local charities in the last 7 years and were keen to help a charity that supports the needs of the elderly. The Centre is not funded and is partially reliant on volunteers and charitable donations, if you would like to find out more please call 01778 421422.
