The RSPCA Young Photographer Awards is open to anyone aged 18 or younger. The aim of the competition is to encourage young people’s interest in photography and their appreciation and understanding of the animals around them.
It was originally set up to celebrate their 150th Royal Anniversary and has been running for 25 years. This prestigious event is also supported by Wex Photographic and Natures Images helping them to build a successful and popular competition that attracts around 5,000 entries each year.
The competition includes six categories including, Under 12s, 12-15 years, 16-18 years, Farm Animals, Personalities and Portfolio. In April 2017 there will be a People’s Choice Award where the public can vote for their favourite photograph online.
The winners will be announced in December at the Tower of London hosted by Springwatch presenter, Chris Packham.
