Multiskilled Mechanical/Electrical Engineer - Full Time

Night shift - 35 Hour Week


Warners (Midlands) Plc is a 4th generation family run high-quality commercial printing company that specialises in magazine and brochure production. We are a successful business who are at the forefront of investment in both the latest industry plant and machinery and also the people employed by the company. We are currently looking to recruit a multi-skilled Engineer, with experience in both Mechanical and Electrical maintenance roles, preferably Print Industry experience would be preferential, however, this is not essential, as we seek someone who can demonstrate a desire to work for a successful business within the printing sector. Due to our continued investment and expansion, this position will provide an opportunity for someone to fulfil a career within the print industry whilst securing employment with an organisation that is independently financially stable and able to offer attractive conditions of employment.


Our Maintenance Department plays an integral role in ensuring that our operational efficiencies are achieved and that our investments are protected through regular and thorough preventative maintenance programmes.  We are seeking a multi-skilled and focused individual who demonstrates a background in mechanical engineering as well as electrical knowledge.  The successful candidate must be able to display a proficient ability to fault find and provide solutions to maintain high levels of machine utilisation.  

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Provision and implementation of solutions in line with the engineering strategy to reduce downtime and maintain high-quality preservation of plant
  • Providing a comprehensive maintenance record of work carried out, causation and repair, stock usage and inventory management 
  • Responsible for completion of planned maintenance tasks to ensure breakdowns are prioritised to meet production needs
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety regulations, working with Safe Systems of Work, ISO 9001:2015 Quality Standard and ISO14001 Environmental Standards are all observed 
  • Providing service levels to both internal departments, suppliers and external contractors to achieve production objectives and support capital investment projects.

Who Are We Looking For?

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate a number of qualities to be suitable for this demanding environment including:

  • You must hold an engineering qualification to NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds level IV, BTEC Level III, ONC or HNC/D along with Mechanical and Electrical qualifications from a recognised body
  • Multi-skilled primarily in mechanical engineering with electrical experience.
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarisation with Mechanical Drive Systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatics would be preferred
  • Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team - Ability to use initiative and work unsupervised by self and as part of a team
  • Computer literacy in both standard and bespoke operating and information systems 
  • PLC experience would be preferred but is not essential.

You will be provided with a full in-house induction and necessary training to give you a grounding in the different functions of the role. In return you will receive:

  • A competitive basic salary starting at £41,300 based on a 35-hour working week
